Civil war in Syria has brought out a huge humanitarian aid crisis. Millions of people who have affected from this war have been obliged to immigrate to the neighbor countries. On the other hand, women, who take place in disadvantaged group due to various gender roles and stereotypes, became vulnerable together with their immigration experiences. As IMPR Humanitarian believes that women have a great role in building the future, we try our best to implement various kinds of activities, since September 2013 till today, for to help women to overcome the post-war traumas much more easily. Additionally, we also believe that empowering women will contribute to the empowerment of people, and prepare several programs accordingly.
In this context, various activities and trainings have been conducted at Urfa Community Center and Women Community Center within the scope of Creative Women Workshops. During the workshops women have attended wood painting, handbag making, bead necklace and earring making activities. At the end of the activities, attending nearly 150 women, a lot of handmade products came out.
Products of Creative Women Workshops will be exhibited on Saturday the 18th of April at 13:00 at the Urfa Community Center. Throughout the exhibition there will be a cookie activity for children in the garden of the Community Center. As IMPR Humanitarian, we would be pleased to see you among us during the exhibition.
